Domus Academy’s students from the Master’s Programme in Product Design have worked with FontanaArte on a project called “Tranquillo” to create a new way to switch on the light.
Tranquillo is an interactive piece of lighting where the user’s phone acts like a switch. It combines aesthetic values and solutions for focused or ambient lighting which are perfect for everyday living.
Students wanted to address the issue of phones reducing productivity whether at the workplace or during schoolwork/homework hours.
This lamp was designed to produce light by having the user place their phone on the base, where it is wirelessly charged, and also switched on to ‘do not disturb’ mode.
