Students from Domus Academy were asked to create original and innovative Retail shop scenarios for Kartell. Each student worked in a group, proposing experimental Retail shop design focusing on the new experience of the brand.
Different creative customers’ scenarios and behaviors were analyzed in a proposed environment, in order to bring a new value and potential to this historical brand, Kartell.
Every team was asked to generate and to present a digital presentation consisting of concept, scenarios, interior plans, prototypes, sections, rendering images and a teaser video, that explain and explore the potentials of the new retail design experience and business strategy.

Play-Stik, a new concept for the global brand Kartell, strives to generate and organize this emotion through a modular, scalable, playful system. On a new identity for Kartell’s shops, one that can be scaled depending on the space. Kartell’s products have a distinct expressive and even theatrical value.
Modular walls become modular shelving, ‘quinte teatrali’ or curtain dividers are embedded into the shelving, the icon of the stair, platforms, dramatic lighting, projections and stadium seating. In this setup, the product will be used like props, emphasized by dramatization.
The main actors, Kartell’s icons, will be given precedence, by various tools and methods used also in theater, creating a new shopping experience for the ‘Kartellars’ all around the world.
