During the Envisioning Workshop, students have been asked to reflect on Metaverse and on our daily virtual presence in the digital world, in order to create and envision more ways to access and interact in the Metaverse from more humanistic perspectives, considering other functions for it that are more than just social or business-related.

In “Objects of Spiritual Use”, Camila Sánchez Somoza and Ekaterine Lomaia designed a series of collectible everyday objects that allow the user to experience spirituality and different states of consciousness in the UP-THERE, a map-projected platform for spirituality in the Metaverse. In the project, the interaction with the virtual world is not dependent on robotic headsets, every interaction is guided by the user through the objects thanks to tactile and gesture sensors.
The aim of the project is to create a new object to protect the most basic needs we have as humans, ignored by the virtual world.
