Students on this course worked on the investigation of the theme of rooftops and its potential in relation to some iconic buildings of the city, from the beginning of XIX century until today. Usually the rooftop is designed to accommodate penthouses and luxury residences.
The outcome of the project was to overturn this vision and design them as communal spaces of the city. Students had to present individually a portfolio composed by 1 plan, 1 elevation and 1 collage image as final project of this course. By selecting only residential building, the project consisted, on one hand, on working with existing artifacts and on the other to design rooftops with a communal function or a public program.
