In the frame of the Product Strategy Workshop, Domus Academy Students from the Master in Visual Brand Design and Master in Business Design had the chance to collaborate with AKQA on a creative and challenging brief to answer AKQA’s Future Lions brief about Rebuild the World.
Reporting that 2 in 10 kids say they have no time to play and parents struggle to see the value of it, AKQA asked Domus Academy students to create a powerful idea that puts creative playback on the agenda and shows how kids can realize great things when they are left to play.

Four winning teams went to Cannes Lions and pitch their ideas live on stage to a jury. One idea has been selected and will go into production with the team working alongside LEGO® and AKQA.
JuHee Lee, Sha Li, Xin Zhang and YiChen Liu designed E-LEGO a set of portable computing devices, that allows sharing 3D LEGO® bricks videos with peers online and learning how to build new creations. The aim of E-LEGO is let people to play together from different places, enriching the physical assembling through digital sharing in the real world.
The project consists of a 3D scanner and a 3D projector that digitalizes LEGO structures in real-time and sends the data to other users. The 3D projector also shows 3D images of the building process and completed structures.
To guarantee the safety and privacy of children, there will be a shield mode that can protect the users from unknown accounts. Adding a thermal imaging scanner to the 3D scanner, people’s bodies will be treated as “background noise” and filtered.
