The theme for the 2024 edition is “Add New Dimensions”, inspiring designers worldwide to explore fresh perspectives in their work and come together at the IXDD event closest to them to continue the celebration and evolution of Interaction Design.

This year’s Italian event, on September 26, is curated and hosted by Domus Academy in collaboration with IxDA Milan & Turin, merging their rich history and experience in the field of Interaction Design. The event will be featuring keynote speakers from diverse disciplines, including Alessandro Masserdotti, Co-Founder at Dotdotdot and Opendot, with a speech entitled “Data Bugs. AI is a Mirror”. Speakers will be available for Q&A and informal discussion.

This year event will explore key topics of future and present significance, including Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality, Accessibility, Sustainability, Interactivity and Connectivity, and Social Impacts. These themes will drive the dialogue and inspiration for designers, offering new perspectives on how technology and design can enhance human life and the environment.

Domus Academy’s journey in this field began in 1996 with its groundbreaking Interface Design Course ’96: The New Territory of Human Relations. This course marked the culmination of nearly a decade of research on designing immaterial relationships with tools and services, exploring key themes such as Sensoriality in the Immaterial World, Communicating with New Media, Smart Tools, and Media Spaces.
