Gianfranco, who leads the Master in Fashion Design, will also oversee the new Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design at Domus Academy, launching in September 2025. In the interview, he explained how the Fashion Product Manager works closely with design, development, and production teams, acting as the vital link between the product concept, the production process, and the final launch, while ensuring alignment with the brand’s identity. Key responsibilities include defining product characteristics, managing material sourcing, and optimising the supply chain. Gianfranco also highlighted the increasing importance of sustainability, which now plays a central role throughout the entire collection development process — from fabric selection to the adoption of innovative technologies for responsible production.

Starting in September 2025, Domus Academy will launch a new Bachelor of Arts in Fashion Design, with a specialisation track in Fashion Product Development. This programme, designed with a hands-on approach, will prepare graduates to tackle real-world industry challenges with skill and creativity, providing them with the opportunity to gain direct experience in the fashion sector.
