Domus Academy reaffirms its role as a leading institution in the creative landscape by once again participating in Milan Design Week 2025 with the second edition of UNFOLD, taking place from 8th to 13th April at BASE Milano.
Domus Academy reaffirms its role as a leading institution in the creative landscape by once again participating in Milan Design Week 2025 with the second edition of UNFOLD, taking place from 8th to 13th April at BASE Milano.
Building on the success of its debut, UNFOLD returns with an expanded presence, doubling both its exhibition space and the number of projects showcased. In response to an international open call launched by Domus Academy, the design faculty has selected eleven partner institutions from a pool of over thirty applicants, bringing together students from Europe, the Middle East, South America, the United Kingdom, the United States and China.

This year’s theme, “REAFFIRM DESIGN://reframing design impact,” invites a critical examination of the role, nature, and influence of design in today’s society. Students have been challenged to explore how design can shape environments, communities, and technologies, addressing urgent global challenges and societal shifts.

On April 10th, Domus Academy will host students and faculty from participating universities at its new campus on Via Darwin 20 for a conference focused on their projects. Students will have the opportunity to further discuss their work, showcased at the UNFOLD Exhibition, with designers, professionals, and industry representatives.
That same day, renowned designer Yves Béhar will deliver a thought-provoking keynote speech on the theme REAFFIRM DESIGN, enriching the dialogue on design’s impact and significance. Béhar, a Swiss-born industrial designer and founder of the design firm fuseproject, is acclaimed for his innovative contributions to product design, sustainability, and social impact, collaborating with leading brands.

Artistic Tapestry of Sneakers
A collection of eight rugs inspired by Alê Jordão’s deep passion for sneakers. This series reflects his connection to urban culture, drawing influence from hip-hop, skateboarding, and basketball, and their impact on fashion and design.
