We are happy to see a project by our alumnus Varun Embarn Sainath amongst a selection of the best circular design ideas featured at the “No Space for Waste” exhibition during Dutch Design Week 2022.
The show, curated by Isola Design District, gathers functional design projects born from discarded products, with the aim to minimize the environmental impact.

Cocopod, designed by Domus Academy Master in Product Design Alumnus, encourages home gardening by making it easier to grow waste vegetable ends. Coconut peat is pressure-molded into cocopods, for their germination. Then, the cocopod is easily re-potted to grow the vegetables back.
Cocopeat rich in coir from the pot can be pressure-molded again, creating a circular economy of the growth medium.
For its 4th edition in Dutch Design Week, Isola Design Community curated exhibitions bringing together 100 designers, from 22 countries, who are moved by creating and sharing solutions to the most discussed issues of our time.
