Eligibility

Discover the eligibility requirements:

To be eligible to enroll, you must have:

• 12 years of previous education
• A valid Secondary School Diploma that satisfies the requirements to enter Italian university
• If applicable, depending on the country in which you pursued secondary education, you must have passed the national test or final exam necessary to enter a higher education institution.
• Certificate of English language proficiency on entry: IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.

The programme leader and members of the Admissions Committee evaluate each application and determine whether the candidate’s previous education and technical skills meet the entry requirements.

To be eligible to enroll in the 2-year Master of Arts, you must have:

  • 15 years of previous education
  • A first-level academic degree (bachelor’s degree or academic diploma) in a field related to your selected master’s course
  • Certificate of English language proficiency on entry: IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.

To be eligible to enroll, you must have:

• A first-level academic degree (bachelor’s degree or academic diploma) in a field related to your selected master’s course
• Certificate of English language proficiency on entry: IELTS 5.0 for the Academic Master’s Programmes, IELTS 5.5 for the Double Award Master’s Programmes.

Documents required

• Application form
• Copy of passport
• Copy of the higher secondary school diploma or final year school attendance certificate issued by your Institution if high school studies are still ongoing
• Copy of the higher secondary school complete transcripts or partial transcripts if high school studies are still ongoing
• If applicable, only for students with 11 years of previous education:

– copy of the final document for 1y Pre-Escolar (Peru, Costa Rica and Venezuela)

OR

– Foundation year (certificate of completion along with transcripts)

OR

– Proof of at least 1-year further studies at University/Academy level (transcripts and study plan)

• Personal statement: text composition (max 500 words) elaborating on the following questions.
In the next future:
– What job would you like to do after you graduate?
– Why did you choose Domus Academy to achieve that?
– What are your favourite means of expression?
– What or who inspires you?
– How living and studying in Milan will positively influence your work?

• IELTS 5.0 Academic
• Only if applicable: regular certification or self-declaration stating the process of enrolment on going or the official enrolment in another undergraduate University program in Italy or abroad and self-declaration of being in possession of the necessary prerequisites.

• Only if applicable: regular certification or self-declaration stating the process of enrolment on going or the official enrolment in another postgraduate University program in Italy or abroad and selfdeclaration of being in possession of the necessary prerequisites.

• Interview with Postgraduate Admission Panel on a case-by-case basis
• Only if applicable: regular certification or self-declaration stating the process of enrolment on going or the official enrolment in another postgraduate University program in Italy or abroad and selfdeclaration of being in possession of the necessary prerequisites.

Submit Your Application

  • Gather all documents listed above.
  • Go to: Apply Online.
  • Create your username.
  • Wait for the email with login information (just a couple of seconds).
  • Fill out the online application.
  • Upload scans of all the required documents.
  • Pay the application fee online.

After submission

Applications are considered complete and ready for review once the Admissions Office has received all required items. Both the programme leader of the chosen programme and the Admissions committee will evaluate your application, looking at your previous degree(s) earned, technical and presentation skills, and apparent level of fluency with the design process.

ADMISSION

Within 7 days from receipt of your submission, the Admissions Office will inform you about our decision.

In case of positive feedback, you will be sent the official acceptance letter and the Enrollment Form.

ENROLLMENT

If and when your admission is confirmed, you must secure your place by returning the Enrollment Form and the receipt for payment of the pre-enrollment fee.

These must be returned within 30 days of the date on your acceptance letter.

If you do not confirm your place by the deadline, this will imply the cancellation of your place in the class.

STUDENT VISA (INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ONLY)

Upon receiving the Enrolment Form filled in and signed and the pre-enrolment fee payment, the Admissions Office will provide students with all necessary assistance to apply for the student visa.

For all programmes, students are requested to have an entry study visa called STUDIO per Immatricolazione Università tipo D nazionale.

All students seeking for a study visa need to fill the pre-enrollment form on UNIVERSITALY website. Universitaly is a platform launched by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) to monitor international students’ mobility studying in Italy.

Matriculation

To complete your matriculation and become eligible to receive the Academic Master’s or Double Award Master’s degree and 2-year Master of Arts, upon graduation, you must submit:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Laurea or Diploma Accademico di Primo Livello) certificate together with academic transcripts or complete and original Diploma Supplement (including transcripts) issued by the University/Academy which awarded the Bachelor’s degree.

• Bachelor’s Degree certificate + complete final transcripts

• CIMEA certificates (Statement of Verification and, if available, Statement of Comparability)

OR

• above-mentioned documents duly LEGALIZED/APOSTILLED

• Additionally, if your Bachelor’s documents are not originally and officially issued in English, French, Spanish and Latin, you will then have them translated into Italian by an official translator

• Bachelor’s Degree certificate + complete final transcripts OR original Diploma Supplement (including transcripts) issued by the University/Academy which awarded the bachelor’s degree in English or double language local and English

• CIMEA certificates (Statement of Verification and, if available, Statement of Comparability)

OR

• above-mentioned documents duly LEGALIZED/APOSTILLED

• Additionally, if your Bachelor’s documents are not originally and officially issued in English, French, Spanish and Latin, you will then have them translated into Italian by an official translator

To complete your matriculation and become eligible to receive the 3-year Bachelor of Arts upon graduation, you must submit:

• original senior secondary school diploma

OR

• official certificate od obtained diploma issued by the senior secondary school

OR

• self-declaration (auto-dichiarazione) of obtained senior secondary school diploma

OR

• copy of the diploma authenticated by NABA Registrar’s

• Higher secondary school diploma

• If applicable, final document for the National test or final exam necessary to enter a higher education institution

• If applicable, Foundation year (certificate of completion along with transcripts) or further studies at University/Academy level (transcripts and study plan)

• CIMEA certificates (Statement of Verification and, if available, Statement of Comparability)

OR

• above-mentioned documents duly LEGALIZED/APOSTILLED

• Additionally, if your High School documents are not originally and officially issued in English, French or Spanish you will then have them translated into Italian by an official translator

Other documents will be requested for specific cases such as, but not limited to:

• Transcripts: we do not require transcripts legalized, unless for very specific cases such as Canadian diplomas.

• CIMEA Verification for international schools whose accreditation is not cleared

• Chinese Gaokao/Yikao Verification statement

PAYMENT

Pay the balance of the tuition fee 3 months prior course beginning.

Deadlines for the payments from second year on: enrolled students will be informed of exact deadlines and fees due by the Accountant Office approximately around June for the re-enrollment fee payment and around July for the balance of the tuition fee and the Degree Fee (if applicable) payments.

PERMIT OF STAY

The application for a permit of stay (permesso di soggiorno, also called a residence permit) is compulsory for all non-EU passport holders. You must request this through the Italian Post Office within 8 days from your arrival in Italy with a long-term visa. Bring along your official Universitaly enrollment certificate duly stamped by the Italian Diplomatic Authorities when they issued the study visa.
