Maria Lezhnina obtained her Master of Science in Architecture from the Kazan State University of Architecture and Engineering (KSUAE) in Kazan, Russia, in 2011. She went on to earn her Master in Urban Vision & Architectural Design at Domus Academy in 2012.

Besides winning several awards and grants, she has worked for Architecture & Urban Systems in Mendrisio, for Buromoscow in Moscow, and for Open Building Research in Milan. She has been also involved in teaching activities at the International Institute of Architecture.

Her interdisciplinary background, as well as exposure to different cultures, led her to photography taking part in several exhibition around the world.
