Born in August 1988 in Moscow, Ksenia Runova traveled around the world for the first 10 years of her life because her father is a famous volleyball player. She continued with this traveling habit later in her life.
After graduating from Moscow State University with a Bachelor’s in the History of International Relations, she moved to Milan, Italy, to continue her education as an interior designer at the Istituto Europeo di Design.
Soon after graduation, she moved to Sydney, Australia, to work and study at Raffles Design Institute. Eventually she returned to Italy to study at Domus Academy and earn her Master’s in Interior and Living Design.
After a successful stage at Versace during the master’s course, Ksenia stayed on for the following 2.5 years as an interior designer working on residential projects.
In 2017, she left the job in order to move back to Moscow and open her own studio with her design partner, Marco Bettoni.
At the same time, she became a project manager for the construction of a flagship Van Cleef & Arpels boutique in Moscow. Now she is working on an ambitious project combining interior design and digital technologies and she is also Area Project Manager at Radisson Hotel Group.
“Domus Academy is a platform where talented people from all over the world meet the gurus of design. It is a great opportunity and pleasure to meet them in person — but also to present your own design and get their precious feedback. Lectures, workshops, collaborations — this is how your studies will be. It is not only about creating a space, product, or service, but also about constant inspiration that helps you to present and promote your design, which is of the greatest importance in today’s reality.”
