Since Mauro joined PepsiCo, the company has been recognized with more than 800 design and innovation awards – in 6 years of projects – from several institutions around the world. Fortune included PepsiCo in their 2018 “Driven by Design” list, one of only two organizations in the Food and Beverage Industry.

Mauro has been recognized with a variety of honours and awards for his achievements in the fields of design and innovation, including Fortune’s “40 under 40”, Fast Company’s “50 Most Influential Designers in USA”, “Master of Design”, “Most Creative People in Business”, GQ “30 Best Dressed Men”, amongst many others.

In 2018 Mauro has been recognized with the title of Knighthood (Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia) by the President of the Italian Republic.

Mauro began his professional career at Philips Design and then created his own design firm, Wisemad Srl, in Italy.

Prior to joining PepsiCo, Mauro served as the first ever Chief Design Officer at 3M, where his mission was to build and nurture a design sensitive culture in a technology driven global corporation.

In his professional career he has been granted with 47 patents on his name.  Mauro sits on the Board of Directors of the Design Management Institute, on the Board of Directors of the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce, on the Board of Directors of La Scuola d’Italia in New York and on the advisory council of other design and art institutions. He currently lives and resides in New York City.
