‘Aesthetics Imperfections – How AI is changing the Landscape of Typography’ is the title of the recently released book written and designed by our alumnus Gianpaolo Tucci.
Published by Slanted Publishers, the book unfolds the latest research by Gianpaolo, Designer and Artist graduated on 2008 from the Master in Interaction Design, highlighting how creativity and innovation nowadays became the results of a collaboration between humans and machines.
Far from being a book just about typography, Gianpaolo’s research led him to recognise aesthetic imperfections as a source of uniqueness in each individual representation. The world is entering a new era where typography moves beyond the strict confines of function to embrace new values of expression. In this context and despite the fact of its pivotal role in art, design, communication, and marketing, AI has not yet taken center stage in the typography evolutionary process, but it is ripe for experimentation.
The book itself witnesses the birth of a co-creation era and it’s an investigation on how the integration and ethical use of artificial intelligence will play a fundamental role in modeling a more human-centric future where AI magnifies human creativity, rather than replacing it.
