Well done Juan Cruz del Granado and Begüm Şardan, our former students who won the Social Furniture First Prize!
After being shortlisted within the top 3 projects for the Social Furniture contest launched by Particle, Juan and Begüm has been awarded the first prize with their “Little Great Things”.
The project consists in a system of modules that can be combined by people in a creative way, allowing co-working, social meetings, stimulating visual communication and interaction among individuals. The duo addressed also themes such as sustainability, “social” design and circular economy.
A great job also done by Oomung Varma, Domus Academy former student, who won the Particle Prize for inspiring design! His project ÜTA, designed in collaboration with Adam Saleh, was inspired by the Italian word “Mutazione” (Mutation) and the social behavior of bacteria as genetic mutation.
Developed by Particle, a global community connected by art, with the support of the Embassy of Italy in Kuala Lumpur, Social Furniture is a design contest that calls for new ideas to rethink how waste plastic can be reshaped into social furniture using circular design thinking.
Great job guys!
